I am an experience Recruitment and Talent Acquisition professional with over 16 years experience.

As a Global Account Director with aap3 I am responsible for managing a team who are tasked with liaising with clients and candidates providing end-to-end contract and permanent recruitment across the UK and EMEA within the Defence & Aerospace industries.

My main focus at aap3 is to maintain but also maximise the growth across all clients within my area, while ensuring I build and strengthen relationships with hiring managers through resource planning, job specification and on-going talent pooling. This role also takes on the responsibilities of overseeing the day-to-day operating activities, including revenue and sales growth and monthly, quarterly and annual financial goals.

Systems Engineer – Communications

In this customer facing role, you will be an integral member of the team, responsible for the delivery of technical 'systems' support for contracts relating to UHF Fleet SATCOM Maritime and Multi Media (MMM) equipment, installed on Royal Naval/RFA ships, submarines and shore establishments. The System Engineer will have mechanical and electrical skills and be a technical authority / SME (Subject Matter Expert) in their field and provide a high level of technical support.

You will be a part of a highly capable team of field based ‘Systems / Field Service Engineers’ with the responsibility for providing specialist technical support to maritime platforms and defence establishments, within the UK and abroad.


  • Provide off-site engineering support; fault finding and maintaining the equipment in support of the Project Manager to meet the short and long term customer work programmes.
  • Deploy nationally and globally when required, inclusive of Contractors on Deployed Operations areas, in order to fulfil contractual and operational requirements.
  • Contribute, as an active team member, towards ’24/7 Help Desk’ operations, when required. Providing technical support and being prepared at times to fulfil a short notice deployment in support of defect rectification and support for the customer, when required.
  • Liaise and communicate with ‘system’ maintainers.
  • Provide training to ships’ staff and sub-contractors.
  • Test equipment, spares and systems in house.
  • Take responsibility for quality of work carried out and ensure that the Health and Safety policy is adhered to.
  • Review, update and improve internal processes and user technical documents and write reports.
  • To carry out and lead system installations on platforms around the UK/World.


  • Experience of working with Maritime communications and Multi Media systems to include basic networking and computer skills.
  • Ideally qualified to HNC / HND in a related discipline or in lieu of academics, or possess considerable equivilant experience.
  • Experience of working with UHF SATCOM systems (Maritime /land/Air) with knowledge of waveforms and systems utilised within the Naval Maritime sphere.
  • Have a good working knowledge of RF theory and application, including the use of equipment involved in problem solving of RF systems. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, Power Meter, TDR, Frequency Counter, Spectrum Analyser, Cable loss measurements.
  • Customer facing, field based ‘technical support’ experience.
  • Proactive mind-set with the ability to deal with competing priorities without compromising quality of work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and the external customer.

HR Manager – TUPE

The HR Manager is a key member of the HR team. Developing effective business relationships with senior managers and key/senior stakeholders for their area(s) and shaping appropriate solutions which assist in achieving the overall business unit objectives. Works independently.

Principal Engineer – Boats in Service

The BISS Principle Engineer is a key role in the Boats engineering function. The role will support the BGEM and Project Manager in the engineering components of the Boats In Service Support (BISS) contract.

Act as a Design Authority for vessels within the BISS contract, including:

  • Peer Review of engineering work.
  • Approval of engineering work.
  • Application of Governance process with agreement of BGEM and in accordance with Engineering Management Plan, inc. Design Certification.
  • Application of Product Safety Practices.

As BISS Principle Engineer, the appointee will have responsibility for satisfying the technical requirements (contractual and business) of the systems, for the fitness for purpose of the system design, for its correct implementation and or ensuring that the system design and implementation meets all statutory, regulatory and corporate governance rules.

Supply Chain Lead

The role includes the supporting of bids and the execution of the supply chain strategy and plans, as well as the engagement of internal/external suppliers & customers to ensure the smooth completion of the project's objectives. It is part of a buoyant and stable team supporting the ship repair activities of Royal Naval vessels in Upkeep and Fleet Time within Warship Support.

As a Supply Chain Lead your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Using an ERP tool (IFS), source, negotiate and manage the procurement and or costing of Material in support of Ship Repair Projects.
  • Support and/or prepare outputs and deliverables and select suppliers in association with the departmental procedures and systems.
  • Support and/or negotiate all commercial, financial, quality and schedule elements for projects and any authorised changes in line with departmental procedures.
  • Proactively support and deliver effective supplier management and delivery in line with the project’s integrated schedule.
  • Identify risks, opportunities and mitigation plans, implement accordingly.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, suppliers and customers (internal/external).

As a Supply Chain Lead your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Proven experience of working with a Supply Chain or Procurement delivery focussed role.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly relating to Microsoft Excel.
  • Good level of numeracy and analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Stakeholder and Supplier Management experience.
  • Able to self-manage, use initiative and work well with others
