Test Systems Hardware Technician

Role Summary

We have an exciting new contract opportunity based in Rochester as a Test Systems Hardware Technician.

The role will be an initial 6 month contract and will provide you with the opportunity to work with leading, innovating cutting edge projects as a member of a very experienced diverse team, with the view to progressing your career within this industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working in a team environment with the development of Test Equipment solutions that support the complex and demanding requirements of the diverse variety of Products developed at the Rochester site.
  • Provide technical support during the development and delivery of all aspects of the test equipment lifecycle, including
    • Test Equipment Systems Requirements and Validation
    • Test Equipment Hardware Design
    • Test Equipment Hardware Integration
    • Test Equipment Safety
    • Test Equipment estimation

Key skills & qualifications

Essential:

  • Awareness and basic understanding of digital &/or analogue electronics technologies; design tools and techniques, electronic circuits design, cable design and manufacture, commissioning and integration
  • Team Player
  • Fast learner
  • Able to prioritise and manage your own work with the minimal guidance
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Good communication skills, both written & verbal

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in an engineering environment
  • Experience of Test Equipment design
  • Educated to minimum of HNC level or equivalent
  • Practical electronics skills, eg. Circuit card assembly, soldering, wiring, etc.
  • IPC 610 and 620 experience/qualifications
