Technical Manager

Role Summary

We have an exciting new contract opportunity based in Christchurch as a Technical Manager.

The role will be an initial 12-month contract and will provide you with the opportunity to lead engineering teams and be responsible for requirements, design, implementation and delivery, in conjunction with product safety, security and certification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysis, design and delivery of solutions to meet programme, business and customer requirements
  • Applying engineering expertise to solve complex engineering problems
  • Leading, inspiring and developing engineering teams
  • Knowledge of the latest technologies and how they can be applied to complex problems
  • Leading the engineering aspects of winning bids

Key skills & qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Strong Systems Engineering background with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Leading the technical solution through the whole lifecycle from concept to in-service
  • Understanding requirements (both in terms of technology need and operational context
  • Integration of Commercial Of the Shelf technologies
  • Understanding of Information Systems
  • Understanding of MoD or Industry IT projects and programmes

Desirable Skills:

  • Appropriate professional registration (IET etc)
  • Assembly or installation aspects for COTS and Military IT equipment
  • Understanding of Security Architectures
  • Understanding of Development Frameworks
  • Understanding of Software Architectures and Software implementation
  • Physical and Electrical Safety, Security and Environmental compliance

Location: Christchurch, Dorset

Rate: £73.77 per hour (inside IR35)
