Subsurface Trainers Virtualisation & Infrastructure Engineer

Role Summary

We have an exciting new contract opportunity based in Broad Oak as a Subsurface Trainers Virtualisation & Infrastructure Engineer.

The role will be an initial 12 month contract and will provide you with the opportunity to have responsibility includes the fitting the COTS storage and compute equipment, racks and any electrical and mechanical infrastructure which allows the NDD system to interface with the ship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of information assurance and security
  • Product design, development, and certification experience
  • Understanding of Navy engineering processes and policies including mandates and standard approaches
  • Understanding of the Core Engineering Processes, Design Review & Technical Bid Review
  • Understanding of the role & responsibilities of a Delegated Authority and behaviours required
  • have an appreciation of networking and electrical systems also, but the role is mainly about the infrastructure so, the hardware aspects.
  • Experience in producing design / engineering artefacts e.g. Engineering Management plans, Scope definition, Technical reports, Product Safety plans etc.
  • Experience of applicable regulatory frameworks and relevant standards (Legislation)

Key skills & qualifications

  • Experienced senior systems engineer
  • Previous experience of engineering management
  • Experience in Review of engineering artefacts produced by others
  • Experience with the stakeholder’s management
  • Experience in technical risk assessment and risk Management
  • Experience With Product Security and Product Safety
  • Understanding of ITAR and export control
  • Appreciation of quality management processes
  • Previous experience in a technical authority role (governance, safety, acceptance)
  • Experience in equipment integration.
  • V&V strategies and documentation required.
  • Appreciation of engineering lifecycle management (risk, integration, configuration management, reviews – CDR/PDR/FAT/LCM, concept to disposal)
  • Engineering lifecycle knowledge

Location: Broad Oak

Rate: £68.03 per hour (INSIDE IR35)
