Senior Procurement Practitioner

Role Summary

We have an exciting new contract opportunity based in Barrow as a Senior Procurement Practitioner.

The role will be an initial 6 month contract and will provide you with Responsible for undertaking all aspects of supply chain related activity to cost, quality and schedule. Provide Supply Chain expertise in line with corporate Supply Chain policy, business requirements and performance objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply the Quality Management System documentation e.g. Policy, Process Instructions, Workmanship Standards, Risk Assessments etc. applicable to your particular work scope and to comply with Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) rules and control measures.
  • Contribute to the development, review and update of supply chain systems and processes to ensure the effective delivery of activities in assigned areas.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant business systems procedures, policies and processes and the production of right first time information.
  • Apply awareness of risk and opportunity management to address low impact risks within scope of work.
  • Ensure all business systems, document management systems and data sources are kept up-to-date to provide a single point of truth for stakeholders.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders – resolving a wide variety of routine problems, escalating complex / high impact issues when necessary.
  • Contribute to Quality Integrated Work Team performance and Quality Maturity Matrix.
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement and Learning from Experience activity.
  • Support audit activity as required

Key skills & qualifications

  • Skilled practitioner of supply chain principles and theory.
  • A willingness to work towards a professional qualification (e.g. Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, Quantity Surveying qualifications or equivalent) would be beneficial.
  • Good understanding of business / functional processes, systems and governance.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • An awareness of the business as a nuclear site and the associated safety and environmental considerations where applicable.
  • Understanding of Customer requirements.
  • Sound project management skills E.g. organisation and time management
  • Sound financial awareness.
  • Proficient in the use of standard Microsoft packages and business systems.
  • Understand the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Understanding of Lifecycle Management Cycle.

Rate: £21.12 per hour (INSIDE I5)
