Senior Engineer – Platform Management and Control Design

Role Summary

We have an exciting new contract opportunity based in Scotstoun as a Senior Engineer – Platform Management and Control Design.

The role will be an initial 6 month contract and will provide you with the opportunity to work with the Type 26 Platform team and the supplier to resolve technical issues and queries impacting systems development.

Key skills & qualifications

  • Deliver on time and to budget a package of engineering in the form of drawings, models and other technical outputs and data.
  • Carry out team planning, risk management and ensure quality in line with all requirements and processes.
  • Manage and report against the team’s work programmes, including analysis of risk, to ensure the team delivers its accountabilities.
  • Accountability for the outputs of subordinates and checking of their work.
  • Carry out technical investigations, including technical research, and assess and provide recommendations regarding short and long-term consequences.
  • Develop the team through the L&D and performance management process
  • Ability to manage a wide variety of stakeholders across the Project
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to senior management levels within the business.
  • Promote coherent engineering “Best for Business” standards.

What we’re looking for in you

Typically degree qualified (not essential) , likely to be in a technology, engineering or science related discipline

Working towards the requirements for registration as Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Well-developed analytical/ problem solving/ decision making skills.

Strong organisational skills who is adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

Stakeholder management skills.

Location: Scotstoun

Rate: £32.49 per hour (INSIDE IR35)
