RPA Developer

Role Summary

We have an exciting new contract opportunity based in Preston as an RPA Developer.

The role will be an initial 12-month contract and will provide you with the opportunity to build end to end automation process solutions that meet the business requirements of a major defence company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate processes and make recommendations regarding their potential and suitability for RPA and work effort estimation
  • Defines and plans the development approach for larger projects through to smaller developments factoring in the existing RPA programme and future development opportunities into the solution design
  • Create and maintain throughout the project lifecycle, the Solution Design Document (SDD) including detailed RPA solution process flows, process and technical specification
  • Design and develop RPA process solutions in accordance with standard Automation Anywhere design principles and conventions and development best practice
  • Apply agile practices and principles to maximise business value and continuously improve the delivery of the right customer outcomes
  • Drive RPA solutions through test, change management, and production readiness cycles, providing operational and change management support for all RPA developments
  • Manage the virtual workforce, maintaining deployed robotics capabilities, business volume scaling, load balancing and allocation of software robots to meet agreed SLAs with business units
  • Develop and distribute appropriate Management Information to the Business in order that the business benefit and usage can be proactively tracked, monitored and refined
  • Communicating with RPA software supplier on software related issues, suggested improvements and participating with other users in the RPA community
  • Support the RPA Manager in the creation and ongoing refinement of an appropriately tailored Framework that provides the optimum platform for rapid and repeatable delivery of automated processes within the Business
  • Lead the investigation and detailed analysis of RPA Incidents and process exceptions including a strategic approach to root cause analysis
  • Mentor colleagues through RPA training and accreditation program, providing advice and guidance on best practice and development techniques
  • Work within project planning constraints, communicating any identified project risks and issues to the RPA manager accordingly
  • Defines and plans the development approach for larger projects through to smaller developments factoring in the existing RPA programme and future development opportunities into the solution design

Key skills & qualifications

  • Experience developing and implementing RPA processes as an accredited Automation Anywhere developer or suitable wider RPA development experience
  • Experience in computer programming languages (C/C++, C#, Python, VB Script, Ruby, Java, JS, .Net)
  • An aptitude for problem solving, with the ability to take a logical route to the source of an error.
  • The ability to work with a structured and methodical approach, combined with an enquiring mind
  • Fully conversant with computing concepts and development lifecycle methodologies
  • Excellent understanding of Excel, its formulas and a demonstrable record of creating macros
  • Excellent understanding of workflow based logic and the ability to both understand a business process from a workflow diagram and to conceptualise it as an automated solution
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent motivation skills, being both self-motivated & self-directed with ability to deliver outcomes to strict deadlines and able to motivate others at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrable record of presenting technical details to a non-technical audience
  • Highly motivated and resilient and able to adapt to change
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Excel

Rate: £27.08 per hour (inside IR35)
