PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

Role Summary

We have an exciting new contract opportunity based in Samlesbury as a Project Accountant.

The role will be an initial 3 month contract and will provide you with the opportunity to provide financial support to new business bids, contract delivery and contract closure.

Key Responsibilities

For new business you will work with bid managers and the commercial function to successfully complete the required finance activities, including finance management plans / checklists, bid models and monthly forecasts for order intake and other key financials.

For contracted work you will be working in an Integrated Project team (IPT) and will prepare Contract Status Reports, Sales and Margin Trading Plans, customer invoices, cost reports, trading journals, monthly balance sheets and monthly financial forecasts.

For contract closure you will also work with the work with the IPT ensuring all financial criteria has been met to enable customer contracts to be formally closed down.

Using inputs from all your areas of responsibility will help prepare our Integrated Business Plan.

The successful candidate will be required preparation of the following:

  • Contract Status Reports
  • Sales and Margin Trading Plans
  • Customer Claims
  • Sales and margin journals
  • Business Winning Checklists and Finance Management Plans
  • Balance Sheets
  • Cost reports
  • Finance Bid Models
  • Monthly financial forecasts in TM1 and Opportunities and Risks

Key skills & qualifications

  • Part Qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Strong excel skills, ability to analyse and manipulate large data sets
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience of budget analysis, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and practical experience of financial systems
  • Financial Systems Experience – TM1, IBM Cognos, LN & SAP (Desirable)

What we’re looking for in you

  • CIMA/ACA/ACCA Part Qualified level 4
  • The candidate must have excellent Microsoft Office Excel skills
  • Communication, Team Working and Motivation

Rate: £32.00 per hour
