Role Summary

We have an exciting new contract opportunity is mobile, as a Procurement Executive – Strategic Supplier Operations.

The role will be an initial 6 month contract and will provide you with Working closely with our key suppliers, this role supports and coordinates the internal manufacturing, operations, performance, and outputs of one (or more) of our T26 Frigate Category ‘A’ key equipment supplier organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience across Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain and Quality and will need to interface with and coordinate resources across a number of functions to support supplier development activities.
  • Accountable to a member of the programme leadership team with functional links to the Naval Ships Directorate for providing a supplier capability status across all GCS programmes
  • highlighting risk and opportunity within prime and sub-tier suppliers as well as developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency, performance and resilience.
  • Working with key programme leadership stakeholders across the Global Combat Ship portfolio the job holder is accountable for the technical, financial, schedule and quality performance of the supplier, as well as the proactive coordination of the internal team support necessary for supplier success
  • This role will significantly contribute to influencing the strategy, plan and successful delivery of the Type 26 Frigate where the position holder will work alongside the Leadership teams both within the supply base and across the three T26 Global Combat Ship programmes based in UK/Australia/Canada.

Key skills & qualifications

  • Will be required to coordinate Production Program and Development Program activities amongst BAE Systems Supply Chain Managers
  • Integrated Product Team/Program Leads and Engineering to ensure quick resolution of technical and programmatic issues by leveraging and integrating the capabilities of the entire organisation.
  • Participate in and contribute to Subcontract Management Reviews, technical meetings, subcontractor partner assessments and audits.
  • The job holder will be required to coordinate resources across multi-disciplined teams to manage specific key suppliers, deliver improvement plans and evidence benefit through improved delivery performance.
