Principal Engineer – Systems

Role Summary

We have an exciting new contract opportunity based in Barrow as a Principal Engineer – Systems.

The role will be an initial 12 month contract and will provide you with creating Engineering Facilities for the future through the use of a systems engineering approach to our requirements gathering and concept development with our Project Architects and other specialist Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding our customers’ challenging needs and acting as a subject matter expert; analysing, preparing and communicating these through the use of architectural methodologies
  • Supporting the development of our Requirements packages in line with the Architectural RIBA 3 lifecycle stage through workshops, presentations and direct support to other Engineering teams.
  • Taking accountability for technical work packages, presentations and documentation.
  • The provision of advice and recommendations, based on expertise and experience, to address infrastructure owner needs.
  • To draw on specialist knowledge and experience in the organisation; to maintain a network of recognised experts who can deliver expert advice in areas relevant to the organisation’s current and future infrastructure needs
  • The collaborative creation and iteration of viable specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • The elicitation, analysis, specification and validation of requirements and constraints to a level that enables effective development and operation of RIBA Stage 3.
  • Providing leadership, guidance and coaching to other engineers
  • Steering new systems development through implementation of best practice systems lifecycle processes

Rate: £53.81 per hour (INSIDE IR35)
