Role Summary
We have an exciting new contract opportunity based in New Malden as a Principal Engineer – Software – Networks.
The role will be an initial 12 month contract and will provide you with the opportunity to work with all phases of the software lifecycle but with particular experience in Integration & Acceptance and ideally knowledge in one or more of the following- Windows Server 2008 & 2016,Other operating systems including Linux (Ubuntu).
Key Responsibilities
Experience of network test equipment e.g. IXIA/Xena
Creating and running test plans from customer requirements
Experience with troubleshooting network issues
An understanding of how to configure and setup Juniper, Dell network devices
Experience with configuring and installing client and server network software
Key skills & qualifications
Knowledge of Local Area Networking (LAN) and/or Wide Area Networking (WAN) technologies
An understanding of the technology behind a switched architecture and its workings (DNS, DHCP, Security, IP Switching/Routing, HTTP, VPN, etc.)
Preferably current Juniper JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP or CCNA/CCNP and/or CCDA certification
Experience of working with Switches, Routers, Servers, Cables (Cat 5-6), Fibre Optics, Racks LAN, WAN, TCP/IP (Ethernet)
Network Management & Monitoring Systems e.g. PRTG and Solarwinds
