Mission Planning Safety Engineer

Role Summary

We have an exciting new contract opportunity based in Preston as a Mission Planning Safety Engineer.

The role will be an initial 12 month contract and will provide you with the opportunity to work with our clients’ multidiscipline engineering team to develop and clear mission planning products for the UK and International market, with the opportunity to engage in the wider safety aspects of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a Safety Management Plan for the MSS (Mission Support Solutions) team products
  • Maintaining the MSS Safety Review Pack as part of the monthly MPP
  • Reviewing Safety (mission planning programmes) & Governance
  • Being accountable for the delivery of the MSS Safety Documentation
  • Ensuring MSS products meet their safety targets
  • Reviewing all supplier safety documentation
  • Representing the MSS team at safety reviews where required
  • Ensuring that all MSS team safety training requirements are identified and satisfied
  • Updating the safety documentation are effectively communicated to the team

Key skills & qualifications

Essential:

  • Experience in Safety Engineering
  • Experience of Safety Case
  • Experience of Fault Tree analysis

Desirable:

  • Experience in safety engineering in supporting product development
  • Experience in Mission Planning products
  • Familiarity or experience with Mission Planning would be an advantage

Location: Preston

Rate: £46.38 per hour (inside IR35)
