Lead Business Intelligence Developer

Role Summary

We have an exciting new opportunity based in Portsmouth as a Lead Business Intelligence Developer.

The role will provide you with the opportunity to provide technical solutions, development and implementation as a Subject Matter Expertise to Business Intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement BI solutions in line with business requirements.
  • Lead, support and facilitate Maritime Services BI activities in line with business objectives and MI roadmap.
  • Accountable for the budget, performance and results of team.
  • Carry out all People Management activities for team as required.
  • Provide technical direction to team, ensure teams are skilled, trained and competent such that technical capability objectives are fully achieved.
  • Responsible for development of BI work packages, Systems and Information Architecture in line with Maritime Services business requirements.
  • Provide appropriate governance ensuring that Business Intelligence development solutions are deployed appropriately across Maritime Services.
  • To lead, provide technical direction and manage a multi-disciplined team of qualified professionals running BI work packages within larger projects

Key skills & qualifications

  • Well developed skills and capability around the creation, understanding and presentation of business solutions utilising a combination of COTS toolsets and ability to present proposed solutions in an effective manner.
  • High understanding of the various corporate Business Intelligence processes, tools and techniques.
  • Able to develop innovative solutions to complex issues in a wider Business context. Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge of modelling principles, methods, tools and techniques.
  • Ability to plan and manage the work content in line with the overall business modelling approach and MI roadmap.
  • Control resources and work package development/implementation in area of responsibility – limited guidance needed from seniors.
  • Customer focused with a service delivery mentality.
  • Strong ethical values; lead by example. Qualifications:
  • Minimum degree level in a numerical subject, with further business/professional qualifications preferable
