IT Resource Manager
Contract opportunity for an IT Resource Manager to work with global organisation. In this role you will ensure the successful implementation of a new Resource Management Tool and ensure robust processes, procedures & training in place across multiple teams and 100+ IT resources.
Outside IR35– flexible working with mix of remote and Rickmansworth based office. Initial 3 month contract with potential to extend.
In this role your key daily responsibilities will be split across:
- Project manage implementation of a new Resource Management Tool
- Support resource owners across multiple teams manage the allocation of resources required to manage business as usual, service requests, incidents, work packages and projects
- Providing key information to the department on utilisation levels.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Create processes & procedures for IT resource management
- Train IT staff in the use of the new resource tool
- Manage resource tool implementation
- Ensure resource reports and dashboards are built and modified as required to meet IT resource management requirements
- Understand the team needs and priorities for resourcing
- Understand the financial implications of the resourcing decisions made
- Provide ongoing support to IT resources on resource management/tool
- Analyse and improve how the resource tool is used
- Manage relationship with Resource Tool vendor
- Assist resource owners in maximizing productivity of available resources through scheduling and prioritisation of activities
Key experience sought:
- Proven background in IT Resource Management
- Excellent project management and organisational skills
- Extensive Excel and PowerBI experience, including developing reports and dashboards
- Resource tool implementation experience, or similar, including integrations
- Experience of using computer-based resource management tools, ideally in a technology department or company
- Requirements gathering and analysis
- Good understanding the different role types in an IT department (e.g. Business Analyst, Solution Architect, System Analyst, Network Engineer etc.)
- Be open to and adaptable to change and be comfortable working in an ambiguous environment
- Previous training experience would be advantageous
- Experience of documenting and implementing new processes and procedures
