Engineering Team Leader

We are looking for talented engineers with a proven track record delivering challenging projects to take on an Engineering Team Lead role within a unique and exciting market leading domain. This role will be instrumental in leading a large and diverse engineering team to not only sustain an existing established system and service, but to help lead new innovation initiatives and develop the next generation system & services for the next decade.

As an Engineering Team Lead you will work closely with the Engineering Manager, Project Manager and Technical Manager to successfully deliver our customer commitments on time and on budget. You must have the ability, aptitude and confidence to support key engineering plans, processes, budgets and milestones as well as the softer challenging aspects of overseeing an engineering team.

Skills and Qualifications:

Experience of:

  • Solid career in engineering delivering IT and/or MoD projects
  • Track record of working through an engineering lifecycle and governance
  • Scheduling and planning of work, and tracking and reporting progress
  • Facilitating the breakdown of tasks and estimation activities
  • Developing an effective organisation structure and associated performance management
  • Providing visible and motivational leadership
  • Execution of a plan, meeting customer milestones and achieving shared success


  • A knowledge of a software language and software development
  • Knowledge of military IT systems and networks
  • Understanding of security architectures, systems integration and accreditation processes
  • Experience of Defence QDC contracts

  • Flexibility to travel when and where required, prodominently within Southern England
  • Can do approach, and aptitude to manage the unexpected
  • Professional registration, chartered status or willingness to obtain

Ideally you have a degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant STEM subject, although relevant knowledge and experience may offset the qualification requirements. You will be expected to either have or willingness to obtain SC security clearance to fulfil this role.
