Role Summary
We have an exciting new contract opportunity based in Great Baddow as a Electrical Engineer.
The role will be an initial 6 month contract and will provide you with working Electrical & Electronic aspects of radar hardware design and Radar equipment support, and undertake design and design maintenance tasks in respect of both new products and technology
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the conduct of a range of activities including feasibility studies, research, design, development and post design services.
- Supporting the design of AC distribution systems including sizing, generation, protection, UPS and control across a range of power levels up to 1MW.
- Supporting the design of DC distribution systems including specification of power supplies, converters, including sizing, protection, and control.
- Supporting the design of motor drives, control, and positioning systems.
- Support to EMC management and verification, including design verification using a combination of simulation, analysis, test techniques plus support to EMC test houses and customer installation.
- Drafting, vetting and editing technical reports or other documents relevant to, or required by, a particular task in order to ensure that technical findings can be successfully communicated with recipients.
Key skills & qualifications
- Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or strongly related subject.
- Learning business approaches and procedures including standards for governance and compliance
- Resolve Project related Electrical Engineering activity to include, but not limited to; Project Specific design amendments, Problem Reports (initially Procurement followed by Build), Obsolescence Issues, liaising with Supplier to ensure Electrical design is iaw released Procurement Documentation
- Previous industry related experience is essential.
- Able to resolve well bounded technical problems based on own experience.
- Learning how to apply engineering knowledge to a range of issues.
- Restricted to closely related work teams in the radar design, support and development business.
