Deputy Programme Quality Manager

Job Description

  • Support Programme Quality Manager (PQM) in dealing with internal / external quality related issues spanning complete programmes
  • Provide PQM meeting & reporting cover for business rhythm demand and support Lead staff absences for the PQM
  • Project manage and assist with evolving and delivering the PQM quality strategy through to implementation underpinned with continual improvement
  • Work with the quality function analyst to create and implement a PQM dashboard based on SMART metrics and business rhythm report generation with a view of automating the required metrics and reports
  • Report status/performance burn downs weekly to the PQM/PM
  • Manage PQM quality specific business priorities, resource allocation v workload in line with programme demands and key activities closely working with PQM’s Supplier Quality Manager, Inspection and Control and Quality Assurance leads

Required Skills, Qualifications and experience

  • Proactive continuous improvement mindset
  • Able to understand and create clear attainable targets/plans and flow these up/down to team and key stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong leadership capability
  • Technical background ideally in a defence environment or large complex organisation
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment with excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to analyse data to understand the issues
  • High level of skills with presentation & analytical packages such as PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ideally SAP knowledge and Tableau but both can be trained.
