Role Summary

We have an exciting new contract opportunity based in Samlesbury as a Buyer.

The role will be an initial 12 month contract and will provide you with the opportunity to join the existing Manufacturing Capital Equipment procurement team, working as a Buyer responsible for capital equipment and operational maintenance procurement on behalf of our client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake supplier assurance activities (including checking credit ratings, ISO, SSIP, insurance, etc…)
  • Ensure compliance with company governance policies and procedures
  • Lead / assist in annual service contract renewals including; requirements validation, competitive tendering, contract term & price negotiations
  • Raise purchase orders in line with agreed terms
  • Support of category strategy actions and initiatives
  • Actively identify and deliver continuous improvements and savings in support of the Indirect Procurement Services Value Proposition

Key skills & qualifications

Essential:

  • Comfortable operating in a team working environment from various locations including: home / office / manufacturing sites
  • Ability to follow and apply governance policies
  • Competent communicator across a range of stakeholder levels and business areas
  • Have a determined, proactive and flexible approach
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst ensuring deadlines are met
  • Experience with Word and Excel programmes

Desirable:

  • Experience working within the manufacturing sector

Location: Lancashire

Rate: £15.64 per hour (inside IR35)
