3rd line Satellite Support Engineer
Opportunity for a 3rd line Satellite Support Engineer with a leading communications organization.
In this role you will manage the organizations VSAT network and support customer network roll outs.
The role will be based out of the organizations offices in Surrey. Hybrid working available.
You must hold or be eligible for UK SC level clearance.
Key experience required:
- Degree or HND/HNC in Electronics/IT/Telecommunication/related area
- 3+ years hands-on in a Teleport, satellite operation centre or in the field supporting or installing satellite systems
- Good knowledge of satellite modems and antenna systems (Cobham, Intellian, etc)
- Good knowledge of Satellite Communications (RF/VSAT/GEO/LEO’s) and Mobile Environments (GSM/4G/5G)
- Good knowledge of IP Networking, switches, routers, firewalls, WANS/LANs etc.
- Excellent customer support skills and ability to interact with customers both on the phone and in meetings.
- Ability to absorb and quickly gain knowledge of company bespoke products and services.
- Ability to diagnose complex faults, document, communicate and follow up corrective actions
- Hold or eligible for SC security clearance
Key responsibilities:
- Managing, configuring, monitoring and supporting DVBS2-RCS2 VSAT network including all installed systems and global Teleport infrastructure ensuring the highest availability of global network, including TCP Acceleration, Traffic Shaping, VoIP systems
- Evaluating new tech – Antenna, satellite modems, etc
- Supporting the roll out of Customer networks
- Testing, roll out and installation of new products and services
- Providing excellent through life 3rd line support in support of our Operations team
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and internally for problem resolution ensuring that customer networks are running optimally.
